Grove City Christian School Board
The Grove City Christian School Board is comprised of parents and professionals who meet each month to prayerfully consider the business of the school. We meet together every third Tuesday*, at 6:00 pm in the Hospitality Center at Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Barry Baker:

Barry Baker has been married to Sonya for 19 years and they have 3 children at GCCS. A son in sixth grade and daughters in eighth and tenth grade. Barry is an Auctioneer and sells commercial real estate at Auction for the company he owns. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelors of science and business administration with a major in marketing. He enjoys travel, golf and riding his motorcycle. Barry is serving his first year on the school board. Barry and his family are active members of the Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Don Rogers:

Don is now serving a second term as the Grove City Church of the Nazarene Advisory Board representative to the GCCS School Board. He served on the Church's Board for 19 years in several capacities, primarily on the Church's Finance Committee, and has served in several other ministries throughout the Church. Don has been employed by JPMorgan Chase for over 30 years in various Finance, Accounting and Operational Management positions. Don is also an Officer & Treasurer of Friends of Jesus Ministries, a non-profit Christian Mission Organization that founded and operates an orphanage and supports various evangelistic projects in South India. A primary goal of his position is to maintain the Church's ongoing vision and purpose for the ministry of the School through the unity of goals and objectives and the effective communication and support from both organizations.

Mrs. Kathy Hill:

Kathy is serving her second term with the GCCS school board. She has two children currently attending GCCS; A daughter who is in the 11th grade and a daughter in the 3rd grade. As well, she has a son in college who attended GCCS from Kindergarten through the 12th grade. Kathy is employed by Mt Carmel St Ann's as a registered nurse case manager, working in utilization review. She also helps manage their family-owned businesses. Her goal for GCCS is to provide each student the opportunity to obtain superior academic skills and promote the development of excellent Christian leaders. Kathy and her family are active members of First Baptist Church of Grove City.

Mr. Jeff Bankey:

Jeff is currently serving his first term with the Grove City Christian Board of Trustees.  He is the Audit Chief for the Ohio Department of Development.  Additionally, he also keeps the accounting records for A Special Wish Foundation, Inc.  He obtained a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from The Ohio State University.  He also is a licensed CPA.  Mr. Bankey currently has two daughters attending GCCS, one in 5th grade and one in 8th grade.  His personal goal for GCCS is to help provide fiscal accountability.

 

 

 

 

 
 
 
   

Mr. Les Hollar:

Mr. Hollar is currently serving as a member of the Grove City Christian school board.  He and his wife, Stephanie, have 2 children at GCCS, a son in the 6th grade and a daughter in the 3rd grade.  Les has a B.S. degree in Paper Science and Engineering from Miami (OH) University.  He is a department superintendent at Glatfelter Inc., a paper company in Chillicothe.  His personal goals are to assist the board with strategic planning for the school, and to promote the goal for GCCS to become THE BEST Christ-centered and academically superior school option in central Ohio.  The Hollar family are members of Cypress Wesleyan Church.

Mr. Phil Brunney:

Mr. Brunney is currently serving his first term as a Grove City Christian School Board member. All 4 of Mr. Brunney's children have attended GCCS since preschool age and starting the 2012/13 school year, will have a child in 4th, 5th, 9th, and 11th grade. Phil is a Lieutenant with the Columbus Division of Fire and the President of Phil Secure Inc. Phil graduated from DeVry University in electronic technology and is currently seeking a degree in technical management. Phil and his wife Mary have been active members of Grove City Church of the Nazarene since 1993. Phil would like to see Grove City Christian School continue to provide a quality education in a Christian atmosphere. He would also like to see an increase in enrollment at the high school level to provide a more rounded "high school" experience.

Mrs. Susan Rouch:

Mrs. Susan Rouch is currently serving as the GCCS School Board President. She is serving her first term with the GCCS school board. She has two children attending GCCS; A son in 9th grade and a son in 12th grade. Susan received her B.S. from Gannon University and her M.S. from Ball State University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in Adult and Young Adult Science. Susan is a chemistry and Advanced Placement Chemistry teacher at Hilliard Darby High School. She was awarded the ACS (American Chemical Society) Teacher of the Year for 2012. Susan and her family are active members of the Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Gary Joiner:

Mr. Gary Joiner is beginning his first term as a board member with the Grove City Christian School. Gary has previously served as a board member with the Northwest YMCA and Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission. Gary has 3 children, Hayden age 21 serving in the United States Marine Corps, Sierra graduated and living in Maryland, and Aaron at home. Gary is employed by Nationwide Insurance as a Special Investigations Unit Manager. Gary earned both his Bachelors degree in Business Administration and his MBA/MSM from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Gary his wife Tracy and son Aaron attend the Grove City Nazarene. Gary's goal for the GCCS is to see the school maintain a professional, positive and safe environment for the children as we develop their physical, academic and spiritual needs.

      Presenting to the Board      
      If there is a particular issue you would like to present at a board meeting, we ask that you fill out the request form, and return it to Susan Rouch, School Board President by the first working day of the month in which you would like to present. You're name will be placed on the agenda, and you will have a seven minute time allotment in which to present.      
             
      We strive to have efficient meetings, as our board is comprised of volunteers, so please have your remarks prepared, printed and distributed to the board members at the meeting.      
             
      If a response from the board is needed, one will be given within ten (10) business days of the presentation.
