Grove City Christian School Board
The Grove City Christian School Board is comprised of parents and professionals who meet each month to prayerfully consider the business of the school. We meet together every third Tuesday*, at 6:00 pm in the glass conference room above the food court of Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Lauron: Dr. Lauron is currently serving as the GCCS Board of Trustees Chairperson. She has two children attending GCCS: a son in sixth grade and another son in fourth grade. Dr. Lauron is a veterinarian at the Concord Chapel Animal Hospital. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Physical Education from The Master’s College, a Masters in Education Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. Her personal goal for Grove City Christian is to see GCCS be well-known and recognized in the community for its excellence in all spiritual, academic, and athletic venues. Dr. Lauron was born in England and became a U.S. Citizen in 1988. The Lauron Family are active members of Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Stephen T. Fisher: Dr. Fisher is a past chairman of the GCCS Board of Trustees. He has two children who attend GCCS. His son is a senior and his daughter is in the ninth grade. Dr. Fisher is a physician and general surgeon. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Penn State and his doctorate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Fisher’s personal goal for GCCS is to establish scholarships. In his spare time he can be found either riding motorcycles or participating in triathlons. Dr. Fisher and his family are active members of the Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Kathy Hill is serving her first term with the GCCS school board. She has two children currently attending GCCS: a daughter who is a sophomore and a daughter in 2nd grade. As well, she has a son in college who attended GCCS from Kindergarten through the 12th grade. Kathy is a registered nurse at Mt Carmel St Ann’s, working in Case Management and also assists in managing Hill Farms and Hill’s Agra-Tech. Her goal for GCCS is to provide each student the opportunity to obtain superior academic skills and promote the development of excellent Christian leaders. Kathy and her family are active members of First Baptist Church of Grove City.

Mr. J. Allen Jones, III: Mr. Jones is currently serving his first term as a member of the Grove City Christian School Board of Trustees. Mr. Jones and his wife, Jill, have three children at GCCS: a fourth grader, a second grader, and a first grader. Mr. Jones is an attorney with the law firm of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP. He received his undergraduate degree from Wheaton College (IL), and his juris doctor from Capital University Law School. The Jones family are members of the First Baptist Church of Grove City.

Mr. Jeff Bankey:

Mr. Jeff Bankey is currently serving his first term with the Grove City Christian Board of Trustees.  He is the Audit Chief for the Ohio Department of Development.  Additionally, he also keeps the accounting records for A Special Wish Foundation, Inc.  He obtained a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from The Ohio State University.  He also is a licensed CPA.  Mr. Bankey currently has two daughters attending GCCS, one in fourth grade and one in seventh grade.  His personal goal for GCCS is to help provide fiscal accountability.  

 

 
 
 
   

Mr. Les Hollar: Mr. Hollar is starting his first term as a member of the Grove City Christian school board.  He and his wife, Stephanie, have 2 children at GCCS, a son in the 5th grade and a daughter in the 2nd grade.  Les has a B.S. degree in Paper Science and Engineering from Miami (OH) University.  He is a department superintendent at Glatfelter Inc., a paper company in Chillicothe.  His personal goals are to assist the board with strategic planning for the school, and to promote the goal for GCCS to become THE BEST Christ-centered and academically superior school option in central Ohio.  The Hollar family are members of Cypress Wesleyan Church.

Mr. Phil Brunney: Mr. Brunney is currently serving his first term as a Grove City Christian School Board member. All 4 of Mr. Brunney’s children have attended GCCS since preschool age and starting the 2011/12 school year, will have a child in 4th, 5th, 9th, and 11th grade. Phil is a Lieutenant with the Columbus Division of Fire and the President of Phil Secure Inc. Phil graduated from DeVry University in electronic technology and is currently seeking a degree in technical management. Phil and his wife Mary have been active members of Grove City Church of the Nazarene since 1993. Phil would like to see Grove City Christian School continue to provide a quality education in a Christian atmosphere. He would also like to see an increase in enrollment at the high school level to provide a more rounded “high school” experience.

Mrs. Susan Rouch: Mrs. Susan Rouch is serving her first term with the GCCS school board.  She has two children attending GCCS: a son in 8th grade and a son in 11th grade. Susan received her B.S. from Gannon University and her M.S. from Ball State University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in Adult and Young Adult Science.  Susan is a chemistry and Advanced Placement Chemistry teacher at Hilliard Darby High School.  Susan and her family are active members of the Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. James Bernholtz: Mr. Bernholtz is serving his first term as a voting member of the GCCS school board after serving as a church board representative in 2006 and again in 2011. Jim's son Eric attended GCCS and was in the first 8th grade graduating class in 1996, prior to the addition of a High School Program. Jim is a Regional Representative for State Treasurer Josh Mandel and is responsible for 14 of Ohio's 88 counties. Jim has 26 years experience in telecommunications industry as Director of Training and Documentation serving with AT&T and then with Qwest Communications. He also served as Senior Manager of Knowledge Management and Training Development at Express Scripts Inc. for 5 years (Fortune 150 Company). Jim also serves on the Grove City Church of the Nazarene Advisory Board, is a member of the Ohio Fallen Heroes committee, and active in several other ministries at the church. Mr. Bernholtz has the goal of creating a strong alignment in the church and school visions and missions as united and supporting ministries.

      Presenting to the Board      
      If there is a particular issue you would like to present at a board meeting, we ask that you fill out the request form, and return it to Elizabeth Lauron, School Board President by the first working day of the month in which you would like to present. You're name will be placed on the agenda, and you will have a seven minute time allotment in which to present.      
             
      We strive to have efficient meetings, as our board is comprised of volunteers, so please have your remarks prepared, printed and distributed to the board members at the meeting.      
             
      If a response from the board is needed, one will be given within ten (10) business days of the presentation.
